More than 100 contestants on “Dance with the Star” have been spotted wearing masks to win a $1,000,000 $1.5 million prize.
The $1 billion prize was handed out in honor of the late singer-songwriter, songwriter, producer and actress Mariah Carey, whose last album “I’ll Be There” sold more than 4 million copies in the U.S. and sold more to date in Canada and the United Kingdom.
The competition took place Saturday in Las Vegas, Nev., according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Some of the contestants wore masks to conceal their faces from cameras, but other contestants wore “mask and goggles” to help conceal their eyes, according to a report by USA Today.
A spokeswoman for “Dancers with the Mask” told the Review-Journa-Journal the show’s makeup team was “working with producers to ensure that the makeup artists were comfortable” with the masks worn during the competition.
Some contestants were seen wearing masks during the show, while others were shown wearing masks for a selfie, according the Review Journal.
“We are in the midst of our biggest show ever.
We have seen some very talented performers, but we have also seen some pretty ugly performers,” NBC Entertainment president Paul Lee said during the telecast.
The show airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
