By KATHLEEN TUCKERAP The Washington, D.C., bureau of The Associated PressWASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has been moving quickly to revamp a long-standing tradition of welcoming visitors from abroad with a new stamp of approval: “Welcome to America.”
As the Trump White House ramps up its efforts to encourage Americans to embrace American values, the White House has put its stamp of approvals in the hands of the president, officials familiar with the effort said.
The change is part of a broader shift by the administration to more closely embrace Americans who are new to the United States, people familiar with its thinking said.
It’s a sign of a Trump administration that is focused on keeping its citizens in America and its interests and ideals, even if it has been slow to embrace new ideas and ways of doing business.
The president has taken a personal interest in helping Americans embrace their new home, including by visiting the White Houses of the incoming presidents and vice presidents at least once a week and encouraging citizens to take part in public events like the opening of the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Washington.
But the president’s role is far less visible.
The White House hasn’t announced any official changes to how visitors are welcomed, and officials have been reluctant to share details, even as they have sought to boost the image of the U.S. as a welcoming nation.
They’ve kept quiet about plans to send a message to foreign visitors with a stamp of acceptance that the U,S.
is open to new ideas, people briefed on the discussions said.
They’ve also been cautious about sharing details about how much money they are offering to foreigners, which could give new insight into how the administration will spend foreign money to boost its own economic and social growth.
Officials have said they are willing to spend millions of dollars on outreach efforts, like building new hotels and office space in foreign countries, in order to attract foreign investment.
But they have avoided details on how much the U is willing to contribute, or whether it is looking to expand its use of taxpayer funds for this purpose.
And they have not explained the new stamp that visitors will get when they arrive in the United State, and how they will be greeted when they visit the White States Capitol or the Capitol building.
Officials did not immediately respond to questions about the administration’s efforts to increase public and private outreach.
The administration’s first visit to the White State Capitol last month was attended by then-candidate Donald Trump.
But this visit is the first time officials will use the word “Welcome” on the official welcome stamps issued to visitors, and they have yet to give details about what that will entail.
A White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to publicly discuss the plans, said the administration is planning to “explore the potential use of this new stamp” to encourage visitors to visit.
The stamp of appreciation is the government’s first official acknowledgement that visitors to the U!
The Trump administration, which has been grappling with how to integrate the new president’s message to the country, is trying to get Americans’ views on what is happening in the world in new and more accurate ways, according to people familiar who spoke to The Associated the AP.
This change has come at a time when some foreign governments, including China, are trying to expand their influence in the U., and are working to push the United Nations to adopt resolutions critical of the new administration, the people said.
In this effort, officials are making a clear distinction between the U.’s economic successes and the international status of its institutions and citizens, and using the word Welcome on their welcome stamps.
The new stamp would be a step in the right direction, said Richard Kogan, a senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
But the administration has not yet clarified what it means by “Welcome,” he said.
It would be nice if they would clarify what that means.
And if that meant that they were going to get a stamp, that would be great, but that’s not the case, Kogan said.
This is what happens when you change the stamp, and it is not the way it’s supposed to work.
